Windows and doors going into an opening for the first time, or into an opening that has been reframed.
Windows
We measure the rough opening before anything is ordered, then set the unit plumb, level and square, shim it, flash and seal it, and finish the interior and exterior trim.
Doors
Entry and patio door installs get the same treatment. The frame goes in square, the threshold sits flat, the weatherstrip closes, and the door latches without being forced.
Swapping units that are past repair, without turning the job into a remodel.
Windows
Every opening gets measured on site, because a house rarely has two that are truly identical. Old unit comes out, the opening gets checked for rot and water damage, and the new window goes in and gets sealed.
Doors
Same order of work on doors. Old slab and frame out, opening checked and corrected, new unit set and sealed, hardware fitted and adjusted so it closes on the first push.
Not every problem is a new unit. Plenty of them are hardware, a seal, or a frame that has moved.
Windows
Balances, cranks, locks and rollers, sashes that bind, and glass that has fogged because the seal in the insulated unit failed. In a lot of those cases the glass can be changed without changing the window.
Doors
Doors that stick in summer and rattle in winter, hinges pulling out of the jamb, latches and deadbolts that no longer line up, thresholds and weatherstrip that let the outside in.
Windows and doors going in, and the same openings once the work is finished.
Tell us how many openings there are and what is happening with them. That is usually enough to say whether it is a repair or a replacement before anyone drives out.
